Cécile Goffaux holds a PhD in Physics from Université de Namur. After a thesis carried out in collaboration with ArcelorMittal on the numerical simulation and optimization of heterogeneous periodic structures with remarkable phononic insulation properties, she joined CENAERO in 2003 as a Senior Researcher in the fluid mechanics and multiphysics modelling team. She develops and validates a thermo-hydraulic tool for satellite testing, in collaboration with a market-leading waloon SME. She also leads projects linked to advanced fluid mechanics for aerospace applications. She ensures the progressive transfer of competencies to industry for Energy and Buildings, and led the corresponding team until 2014. She is a PI in the SIMBA FEDER project, which is a cornerstone of technology transfer for CENAERO in these fields. She pursues the portfolio consolidation for different applied and industrial research projects (more than 15 SMEs and 10 research projects); the latest high profile project is Wal-e-cities, on the integrated management of energy and the environment in urban spaces. Since 2014 she has corporate responsibility for the Business Development and Innovation Management at CENAERO.
